DIY: Make a Drill Dust Collector with a PVC Wye Fitting

Creating a simple drill dust collector takes only seconds with a 2-inch PVC Wye fitting. This DIY method requires no cutting, no vacuum, and no special tools.

Instructions:

Take a 2-inch PVC Wye (Y) fitting and slide a plastic or paper cup over the lateral (angled) outlet of the fitting. The cup acts as a dust collection chamber.

To use it:

1. Hold the straight-through end of the Wye fitting against the wall, just below where you're drilling.
2. As you drill, dust falls through the open top and collects in the cup attached to the side outlet.
3. When finished, simply remove the cup and empty the dust.

This setup uses the natural angle of the Y-fitting to direct dust into the cup without the need for a vacuum or power tool attachments. It’s lightweight, reusable, and perfect for quick, mess-free drilling.
